I have been doing the Dexter marathon for a couple of weeks now. When Dexter season 4 ended last week (darn, I read the recap! spoilers!) I just finished watching Season 1 then. And finally, a couple of days ago, I saw the finale of Dexter season 3! It’s was good!
Upon watching all of them episodes, I noticed that there are some ‘big changes’ from the characters, the casts and the show in general. I want to list the top 5 of them here:
5. Debrah Morgan – Deb Morgan is Dexter’s sister. Played by Jennifer Carpenter, she is Michael C. Hall’s real life wife. I wonder if they met and fall in love in the show? ANyway, big changes is the hair, ok that’s obvious. I just want to say that she still looks pretty thin.
4. About Maria LaGuerta – She is being played by Lauren Velez. Yep she’s still alive as of Season 3. Here’s what I noticed about here – She got fat and got slim again. I have no photos to show for now, but in season 1, while she shows great interest in Dexter (and opposite to Deb), she is slim.. then season 2 came, which I noticed she gained a little pounds and in season 3 while flirting with Miguel Prado, I noticed that she’s thin again. Probably the producer told her to hit the trend mill or get the boot.
3. Harry Morgan – Played by James Remar, Harry Morgan is Dexter’s foster father. He taught Dexter about the code and all that sh*t on how to survive and not getting caught. I noticed that Harry Morgan’s appearance on Dexter changed from Season 1and 2 to Season 3. In the first 2 season, Dexter has this flash back in a certain time in his life talking to Harry and learning a lesson. In season 3, it’s like Dexter is crazy or something. Why? Coz he sees his father every present day, giving conflicting thoughts and comforting him in many instances.
2. Rita Bennett-Morgan – Julie Benz plays (or played… darn spoiler) Rita Bennett, Dexter’s girlfriend. This is where I noticed the ‘biggest’ change in them all. Did you notice how her breast size just increased from season 1 to season 3? Go ahead, watch the old episodes from season 1.
Due to her violent past, she initially has very little interest in sex, which works well for Dexter, who considers himself emotionally removed from humanity. Dexter says he feels Rita is a perfect girlfriend because she is “in her own way, as damaged as me.” which leads us to the next Big change in Dexter.
1. Dexter Morgan and Sex – Yep, in season 1, I see Dexter as a big phony. He’s acting and pretending to be normal to everyone else just to fit and blend in. He has no feelings. There’s even this episode where Rita wanting to make out and Dexter trying very hard to excuse himself. Then in season 2, she met this Lila character and apparently he is now ok with the sex thing… and of course we now that in season 3 Rita got pregnant and there has to be some sex involved there too huh?
