It’s a little late for a recap on the pilot episode of Eastwick because the latest one is Episode 4 already, Fleas and Casserole (which I don’t believe I have blog yet. :)

Eastwick, a countrified little town of New England will never be the same again after the 3 local resident came together and their wishes mysteriously granted the day of the rustic town’s Foundation day.

The main characters of course are the three would be witches of Eastwick – Roxie Torcoletti, a financially-challenged widow who makes and sells arts and crafts for a living, Kat Gardner, an overstressed housewife and mother of five who works as a nurse at the hospital, and Joanna Frankel, an uptight and shy reporter for the local newspaper.

Lots of things happened during the pilot episodes, which is a good thing for a new TV series. The pilot episodes introduces all the primary casts and characters.

Roxie’s daughter, Mia, airs her concern about their finances. Roxie assures Mia that she need not worry. She then finds a fifty cent coin on the floor and thinks her luck will soon change.

Roxie is seeing a younger man named Chad.

Meanwhile, Kat’s lazy husband, Raymond Gardner, criticizes Roxie saying that she’s a cradle-snatching slut (which his kid mimics saying “slut, slut” repetitively) while Roxie and Chad made out in the art shop.

While Kat and Raymond have a picnic with their kids, Kat takes the coin her son found in the park.

Meanwhile, Joanna and her best friend Penny discuss their job and Joanna’s lack of assertiveness. Joanna, has this super big crush in her office mate photographer (she works at the local newspapaer) named Will. Joanna was heard by Will talking about vibrators. After an even more awkward conversation with Will, Joanna walks away with Penny. She then picks up a coin which hit her head out of nowhere.

During this whole happening, a historian is telling an old tale about the witches of Eastwick and is being attached by ants… The 3 ladies by then have made their own wishes using those coins.

Then this Darryl Van Horne comes into the picture who granted each wishes. Kat apparently has this power of will. Joanna, the one with no assertiveness, becomes more “convincing” getting anything she wants and Roxies apparently can see the future.

The last part of the episode showed Roxie and Van Horne (after meeting and getting drunk with water) saved Mia from being raped by her boyfriend.

Pretty exciting episode, pilot episode of Eastwick. I think i’ll follow the series and watch Episode 2 later (and so is my wife)
